Tony Zirfas joins Piano Trends as Operations Manager. This is Tony’s second stint with Piano Trends as Tony worked his way through High School and College as a part timer. Tony also teaches piano and guitar one night a week. Welcome back Tony!

Piano Trends Music to Provide Pianos and Entertainment at Mart…

for the Chicago Gift Show this Weekend. Piano Trends regularly works with the Chicago Merchandise Mart on Musical Events held in the historic Chicago Landmark building. Saturday from 6-8 Dean Malsack will perform on the 14th Floor entertaining guests while Tony Zirfas will play piano on the 13th floor. Monday Sept 25 Dean will entertain for two receptions. At 3pm he will play for the Press before their Conference at 4pm. Dean then plays for the attendee reception at 5pm. The pianos being used are provided by Pianos Trends and their Mart location. Music videos of these performances will be available on the Piano Trends Television Channel.

Join us for an evening of wine and culinary delight along with some of the best entertainment you will find. thursday november 12th from 5 to 830 pm Piano Trends will provide pianos and artists to perform and help raise funds for the Rspiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago. The headline act this year will be Dean Malsack and Joan Hammel in the Main Lobby. Piano Trends will be assisting in one form or another in making sure many Fall concerts put their best foot forward. Starting Wednesday Sept 16th when Piano Trends provides the piano and Dean Malsack for the Luxe Magazine Party at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Thursday Dean plays for Piano Trends in their Downers Grove location within the Rossi furniture Gallery on Butterfield Road from 5-8. The public is welcome to attend this cocktail event. Louis Landon and Danny Wright come to the Raue Center and to Piano Trends in Early October and The Chill Charity event at the Mart on Nov 12th where four grand pianos and four artists will perform. Tickets available by contacting piano trends to reserve. Piano Trends will also help coordinate concert events in Kenosha and at Centegra in October and November. Watch our website for details

The Museum of Making Music and The Bob Moog Foundation announce Waves of Inspiration: The Legacy of Moog a special exhibition to run from August 29, 2009–April 30, 2010, at the Museum’s facilities in Carlsbad, California. The exhibit is the first of its kind, marking the first public display of the artifacts from The Bob Moog Foundation Archives.

Bob Moog (1934-2005) was a pioneer in the field of electronic music, developing the Moog synthesizer in 1964. His work made synthesis accessible to musicians and provided them with new realms of sonic expression. The instrument revolutionized the face of music and was used by such early synthesists as Wendy Carlos, Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jan Hammer, and more.
